About the Role:

We’re hiring an experienced estimator to support commercial and industrial electrical projects for a U.S.-based contractor. You’ll manage the end-to-end estimating process, from takeoff through bid submission and handoff, while collaborating with project managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate electrical scopes for commercial and industrial projects by reviewing plans/specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing time, material, equipment, and labor cost models.
- Identify construction risks and develop mitigation strategies; acknowledge addenda and produce required bid breakouts.
- Source and evaluate quotes, compile current labor rates and material prices, and negotiate vendor/subcontractor proposals.
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals, including alternates, unit rates, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Attend virtual pre-bid meetings, coordinate clarifications and RFIs, and align scopes internally.
- Price and track change orders to maintain estimate accuracy throughout preconstruction.
- Provide complete handoffs to project management, including estimate files, scope narratives, vendor lists, and assumptions.
- Maintain estimating schedules and logs, updating as scope or design changes occur.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators, assisting with bid folder organization, takeoffs, and quote collection.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial/industrial projects (U.S. experience preferred).
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant local building codes.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Team-oriented mindset with a professional and reliable work ethic.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Postsecondary electrician training is a plus.
- Stable high-speed internet and ability to work remotely with U.S.-based teams.

Tools & Software
- Trimble Accubid and LiveCount (or equivalent).
- Bluebeam Revu for plan review and digital takeoffs.
- Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word) for collaboration and bid documentation.

Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with U.S. supplier and subcontractor coordination.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior estimators.
- Exposure to common bid and estimating platforms.
