Position Title: (Employee relations specialist) - Compliance specialist
Location: Remote - Colombia
Shift days, hours and time zone: Monday - Friday 9am a 6pm
English required:B2+/C1
Study required: Administrative - HR Background (2-3 years)

Job description:  Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist with 2-3 years of HR background to manage a variety of administrative and employee relations functions. This role will primarily focus on offboarding processes, intake and documentation of employee cases (note-taking), and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. The successful candidate will provide support to HR Director. This is a fully remote position, with an expectation of one in-office day per month.
 
Responsabilities:
1. Manage Offboarding Processes: Oversee and execute the end-to-end offboarding process for departing employees, including final paperwork, exit interviews, benefits information, and coordination with IT and other departments for asset recovery and system access removal.
2. Conduct Employee Relations Intake: Serve as the initial point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and disputes, actively listening, asking clarifying questions, and thoroughly documenting all relevant details as a detailed note-taker.
3. Support Employee Case Management: Assist in the investigation and resolution of employee relations cases, gathering information, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
4. Maintain Comprehensive Documentation: Create and manage accurate, confidential, and up-to-date documentation for all employee relations cases, offboarding activities, and compliance records, ensuring a clear audit trail.
5. Ensure HR Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local labor laws, company policies, and internal HR guidelines, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions.
6. Assist with Policy Development & Communication: Support the review, development, and communication of HR policies and procedures to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance.
7. Provide Administrative Support: Handle various administrative tasks related to employee relations and HR operations, contributing to the efficient functioning of the HR department.
8. Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with Kevin and Michelle, providing timely updates, support, and insights on employee relations matters and compliance initiatives.
9. Contribute to a Positive Work Environment: Act as a neutral party in sensitive situations, fostering open communication and contributing to a respectful and productive workplace culture.
10. Stay Current on Regulations: Continuously learn and stay informed about changes in employment law and best practices in employee relations and HR compliance.
 
Skills and qualifications - Hard and soft skills:
1. 2-3 years of proven Human Resources experience, with a focus on employee relations and/or HR administration.
2. Demonstrated experience in managing offboarding processes, including documentation and coordination.
3. Strong ability to conduct employee relations intake, including active listening and detailed note-taking for sensitive cases.
4. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for comprehensive documentation and record-keeping.
5. Solid understanding of HR compliance principles and best practices.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
7. Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in addressing employee concerns.
8. Proficiency in using HRIS or case management systems for tracking and documentation.
9. Ability to work effectively independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with the team.
10. Proactive and resourceful in identifying and addressing potential HR issues.
11. Flexibility to travel to the office once per month as required.
