Position Summary:
The Accounting Lead will assist ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reporting. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, experienced accounting professional with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles. The successful candidate will streamline accounting processes, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tFinancial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations for improving business performance.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
•\tBudgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with other departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with business objectives.
- Track budget performance, analyze variances, and present findings to senior management.
•\tInternal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulations (tax, financial reporting, etc.).
- Develop and implement effective internal accounting processes to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency.
•\tAccounts Management:
- Oversee the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
•\tAudit Support:
- Assist with the preparation for both internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and respond to audit inquiries as required.
•\tProcess Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Implement automation tools and best practices to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
•\tEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
•\tCertifications:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., CMA, CGMA) a plus.
•\tExperience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance standards.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
•\tSkills:
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and NetSuite preferred).
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling preferred).
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across departments.
